Our Local Bail-out Plan

It's not easy being the covert mayor of an unincorporated stretch of highway in the middle of nowhere. Every day, there is another problem! So this arrives on my desk today along with a request for re-zoning. It was in response to the simple question to my constituents of how to get some pork barrel money out of this new stimulus bill? And this is a plan my next-door neighbor, Jason, came up with for getting in on the action. It has to do with the vacant lot between his house and my office. I give it due consideration and may need to appoint a committee to work this up .

First, I have to look at the "pros". Stacking house trailers vertically, rather than letting them sprawl out over the dormant cornfields is a great space-saving concept. Also, it enables the recycling of a lot of abandoned habitats sitting around on other vacant lots. The top of one house trailer could be the lawn for the one above it! The idea has a certain home-spun charm.

But then, I have to look at the "cons". How is this condo situation supposed to stand by itself? Have you been sniffing crazy glue, again, Jason? And even if I did take the penthouse unit, how am I supposed to get there? There's no elevator or stairs! Obviously, what is needed is a couple of sub-committees. I am appointing Doris ,as Secretary of Exo-skeletal Infra-structure. "Do you swear to make this thing stand up?" "I do." OK, I need someone to head up the sub-committee to build stairs. Oswald, you can do that, can't you? "I think so." OK, Oswald, you can be the Secretary of Upward Mobility, just remember to take it one step at a time.

What a fabulous idea Mr. Mayor! Maybe you can hang a rope from your Penthouse and use that to go up and down?

I was think more of getting one of those jet-packs that you strap on your back, so I could fly up! (I'll have to slip it into the proposal as an earmark.)

Mr. Mayor,
I respectfully submit that you appoint an oversight committee to monitor the "high" rise committee and it's subcommittees. That would put more people to work and be about as useful as anything they do in Washington.

Excellent idea. I am going to appoint you to appoint the oversight committee, and I will also appoint someone to monitor you!

Mr. Mayor
I will configure the green areas...
or oversee them with another committee if you would allow.
And just aas another thought, why not appoint me to be the configure-er of the stairway to heaven? (aka, your penthouse suite )

Now, you're talking...I like it...thinking outside the box!...configure the green area, BG...that does mean that you are going to make a salad, right? And yes, re stairway to heaven...you can be the reconfigurerererer of that..as long as you are not afraid of heights! : )

That kind of life 'in the middle of nowhere'...
It's better here... :-)

Pretty easy to support the structure. You just need to plant trees around them to stabilize it.
And you can use those Tarzan like to get to the various condos ;)

OK, Nicole, I am making you the Secretary of all the other secretaries. Your first assignment is to serve as adviser to the Secretary of Green Reconfiguration (BG) . I want a salad on my desk in the morning!

With or without Tomatoes?
:)

Make those the most robust mixed red and yellow Roma tomatoes, the Australian variety. I am authorizing you to send a delegation there to negotiate the deal. Blogitse would be a strong candidate. But do a thorough background check, I cannot have any more embarrassing red flags popping up in my administration.
