I've always like Beuys. Strange but cool.
This painting is great.
You have such a talent!

Do you know Sahm? I love his stuff!

Beuys was very interesting, and as you say, strange. I was directly influenced by one of his remarks, which was "Show your wounds"...I began making slides of my own blood...but that is another story!

I can see that you would like the sense of fantasy in his work...you might also like Roger Dean, or Frank Frazetta....Dean did a lot of fantasy album covers in the 60's and 70's and Frazetta's work often made the covers of fantasy and sci-fi novels...I think of these kinds of works as "magic realism". They depict in a way some magical or other-worldly realm, and they are painted in a very precise and realistic manner!

Cool - will have to check them out whenever we get a house and I have some walls where you can actually hang some frames :)

Thank for comments...many of the things depicted in the drawing are associations with the life of Beuys and some aspects of his work.
