2010. Aung San Suu Kyi
This is a ridiculous situation. A woman imprisoned in Burma. And a remarkable woman, at that. Many of the nations of the world have 'called for her release'. She is a woman devoted to non-violence, and has many awards for her courage and devotion to freedom, including the Nobel Peace prize. Yet, she is a prisoner to a repressive regime. "Calls for release' mean little, that is obvious by now. 2010. Enough is enough. Free Aung San Suu Kyi. It seems so many want to see her free, but no one has the balls to go in and get her. It will take more than talk, I am sad to say.

You're right. She's not alone. There're many people in prisons because what they've said or written.
But too many killers and murderers are free!!!

It is a sad world we live in.
Period.
Many, many people are imprisoned, like BLOGitse said, just because of what they wrote.
Yet the EU and USA pump millions of Dollars in the economies of those countries.
Do I have to understand it? Nope.

Her situation is so so sad! She is a brave, brave woman. I saw a documentary about her once and she wears fresh flowers in her hair every day. That is her way of expressing that she will not break down. Such a sad place we live in.
It's very sad indeed. I don't know which situation is worse-the fact that she is in prison because of something she's said, not a deed or action, or the fact that no government will help her, simply because she does not live where there is enough oil under her feet. In these times, it seems like the political hotbeds are only made so to fuel our own desires, rather than standing up for what is just, what is right. That, to me, is very sad indeed.
