It is time for a new glory. A glory not so gory.
Yes, I guess I tip my hat to the rockets and their red glare, and the bombs bursting in air. I am able to speak my mind, I guess, but it is over countless dead bodies. How sad what it took to get there? Oh say can you see, by the dawn's early light, children huddling in fright, afraid of the night, and what they will wake up to? Or if they will wake up at all? Something was accomplished at great cost. How to find a way to peace without killing to get there? That's the New Glory. There have been a few to step up to the plate with a dream and some possible position for changing things. Unfortunately, there is some tendency to kill them off. As Benjamin Franklin wisely said, "If we don't hang together, then assuredly, we will all hang separately."

not to be morbid..
but we all hang ourselves at some point or another, to some extreme or another...
we all just find what's comfortable, and to a fault sometime....

We need a new Betsy Ross to sew up a new flag...the daily toll cannot just fly by in sound bites so as to make room for the entertainment. On tv today, it is all about the fireworks, and what is the hot recipe for the grill. Something is wrong with this picture, and my remote control can't fix it.
Humankind never ever grasped the idea of accomplishing things without killing.
I doubt they will learn it now.
'We must be the change we wish to see in the world' Mahatma Gandhi.
'Our time for change has come' Barack Obama.
Here's to a new glory!
